Last half term, we were delighted to be selected to take part in the National Portrait Gallery’s Faces and Places programme. The project brought portraiture into our school and encouraged pupils to explore identity, place and community through art, discussion and creative activities. Every class in the juniors participated in a series of engaging workshops led by a National Portrait gallery educator. The workshops encouraged thoughtful discussion, creativity and reflection, helping children make connections between their own experiences and the stories of others.
