This term, the children in Year 5 are experiencing a wonderful opportunity to work with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). On Thursday, Iceland class visited RIBA’s exhibition entitled ‘Difficult sites: Architecture against the odds’. From the 1900s to today, the exhibition delved into over twenty complex, unusual and dynamic builds across the UK. The exhibition explored remarkable feats of architectural achievement in the face of tricky terrain, awkward urban plots and challenging remodels. Following the exhibition, the children explored the fascinating RIBA building and then took part in an amazing workshop, creating buildings linked to difficult sites.
