Last Friday morning, Year 6 deepened their understanding of what life was like as an evacuee from London during World War Two. This learning linked closely to their history topic on World War Two and their English historical fiction text – Letters from the Lighthouse. The children also explored the experiences of children from other countries affected by the war. In the afternoon, they designed and created their own propaganda posters before developing their cross-stitching skills as part of a ‘Make do and mend’ activity. Everyone looked amazing in their costumes; this really brought the day to life. It was a truly fabulous day!
